The horror comics roundup to close out 2026 is a real doozy. We horror fans know that “Screaming Season” doesn’t end with Halloween. It catches its breath in November, but is still around. And it comes back just as hard in December with tales of holiday and winter horrors. The comics industry understands that too, because in November and December they’re launching a multitude of horror books featuring original characters and familiar faces like the Predator, Archie, Joe Bob Briggs, and Darcy the Mail Girl.

What’s especially exciting about that is that comics are a visual medium free of constraints like a budget. So it’s a vehicle where scary stories can be bold, imaginative, and bloody, and holiday horrors can be especially scary and bright. Intrigued? Then read on for details on the 36 new and new-reader-friendly horror comics launching in November and December. If you decide you want any of them, let your local comics retailer know ahead of time. They’ll pre-order those books for you. Tell them FANGORIA sent you!

Movie fans probably know Marvel Comics' Ghost Rider best as Johnny Blaze, a former motorcycle stunt rider with a fiery, skeletal alter ego, portrayed by Nicholas Cage in two feature films. However, the comics have featured multiple hosts of the Ghost Rider entity throughout history.

The titular character of this one-shot, released in honor of Indigenous Heritage Month, is an Apache Woman who became Ghost Rider in the 1800s and also served as Earth’s chief mystical defender, the Sorcerer Supreme. The book collects all of the digital Infinity Comics written by Taboo of the Black Eyed Peas and frequent collaborator B. Earl (Deadly Neighborhood Spider-Man), with art by Guillermo Sanna (Dead X-Men) and Vanesa R. Del Rey (The Voice Said Kill) in one volume. It follows Kushala’s quest to stop a mysterious force that has targeted her ancestral line for elimination.
