In the midst of its development for television, Oni Press’s popular series Afterlife With Archie is coming back to life for a new special edition printing. The publisher is stripping things back for Afterlife With Archie: Mausoleum Edition Vol. 1, a new version of the Archie Comics story like you’ve never seen it before.
The 11×17” hardcover volume strips all color from the comics, rendering artist Francesco Francavilla’s art in crisp black and white, leaving only the linework in place. The story remains the same, teaming Francavilla with writer Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa, but reveals itself in stunning detail, with Francavilla remastering the art for a book the size of a full-scale comics artboard.
Fans can also pick special new Afterlife With Archie goodies to go with the Mausoleum Edition. On offer are special reprints of the series, both in single issue and graphic novel versions, as well as t-shirts, enamel pins, posters, and more.
Originally published in 2013, Afterlife With Archie is currently in development as a live-action series, set to premiere on Disney+ in 2027. The synopsis for the comic series is as follows:
