Shudder has yet another fantastic Season of Screams planned for 2026, and we’ve got an exclusive first look at all of the horror goodies. Each day we inch closer to Halloween, and while all of sickos consume plenty of scares year-round, fall is when we can kick things up a notch. It’s the most wonderful time of the year and, as always, Shudder has our back:
Season of Screams is already underway, turning the usual October horror binge into a four-month event that lasts until the end of the year. As is tradition, new movies arrive throughout the fall, along with another season of The Creep Tapes (check out our interview with Peachfuzz himself here), live programming on Shudder TV, Halloween specials, and plenty of catalog titles for anyone looking to disappear into a horror marathon.
A few dates are worth marking down in your calendar, and some of the season’s most anticipated films (like Parasomnia, Mārama, and Goody Goody) are already available to stream: Bloody Tennis arrives on September 25, Infirmary on October 2, V/H/S/Mixtape premieres October 9, Joe Bob Briggs’ annual Halloween special airs live on October 23 before becoming available to stream two days later, the 2026 FANGORIA Chainsaw Awards hosted by Devon Sawa stream live October 25, and Season 7 of The Boulet Brothers’ Dragula, arrives on October 27.
The Halloween-season lineup also includes some killer offerings you might be less familiar with, like Hallowarrior on October 16, starring Hereditary star Milly Shapiro, and The Cycle on October 23 with Deborah Ann Woll. The final stretch of October includes Spider One’s Big Baby on Devil's Night, October 30. Halloween itself brings Hunting Matthew Nichols, about a documentary filmmaker investigating the disappearance of her brother on Vancouver Island 20 years earlier.
And for those looking forward to some seasonal ambiance, Shudder's annual fireplace-for-horror-season tradition is getting a makeover, too. The Ghoul Log returns October 1 as Curse of the Ghoul Logs, replacing the familiar single jack-o'-lantern setup with multiple pumpkins, courtesy of the Hallowarrior filmmakers behind this year's version. Given that Hallowarrior is a post-apocalyptic story about a Halloween-obsessed gal named Pumpkin who thinks she's the last person alive and must tap into her deadliest survival instincts after vicious scavengers show up at her doorstep, I personally cannot wait to see their vision for the Ghoul Log.
On the communal side of things, Shudder TV will continue running their usual watch parties throughout the season. Friday nights will feature double features at 9 p.m. ET, with additional programming built around Halloween. Among the planned events are a six-movie V/H/S marathon on October 9, Joe Bob's House Party on October 23, the live FANGORIA Chainsaw Awards on October 25, and a Halloween-night triple feature pairing Halloween (1978), Late Night with the Devil, and Deadstream.
And that's only through Halloween. Shudder will have more programming announcements for November and December. The normies might be checking out once Halloween is over, but we most definitely won't be. We'll be here on the horror front lines to keep you updated, so keep those eyeballs peeled.
