Shudder remains a true haven for original horror. It’s also one heck of a place for filmmakers to get their work out into the world, one that caters to a genre-hungry audience. In this case, Shudder is playing host to the feature directorial debut of one Mr. Raymond Creamer in the form of Goody Goody. We at Fango are proud to bring you an exclusive glimpse at said feature debut right here, right now.

Goody Goody is about to become part of the rich tradition of pregnancy horror movies, joining the likes of Rosemary’s Baby and Immaculate, among many others. In this case, we’ve got a movie focused on a home birth that goes terribly awry. In the clip below, we see the family along with the midwife contending with the fact that this previously planned way to bring a new life into this world isn’t going, well, according to plan. Check it out for yourself.

This is very much a “calm before the storm” clip. We know something is wrong and there’s clear tension. We just don’t know exactly what’s wrong. Spoiler alert: shit gets horrific. For those who want a little more context, we’ve also got the trailer for the movie for you to check out below, in addition to the official poster. The synopsis for the movie reads as follows:
“Lulled into a necessary sense of comfort during a long home birth process, expecting parents and their midwife begin to realize something may be horribly wrong. A blizzard rages outside, trapping the family in their home as increasingly sinister complications arise.”
Creamer’s debut feature previously made the festival rounds, including as part of this year’s Overlook Film Festival. It’s just part of Shudder’s fall offerings, which also include the recent release of The Creep Tapes season 3, as well as V/H/S/Mixtape and Big Baby, among others. Fall is the season for scares, after all, which is Shudder's prime time to shine.
The cast includes Samantha Robinson (Cam), Zoe Renee (The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes), Colby Hollman (Fear the Walking Dead), and Colleen Foy (Station 19).
In addition to his work as director, Creamer also penned the screenplay for the movie personally. Harrison Rothman, Steven Schneider, and Keely Kemp serve as producers.
Goody Goody premieres on Shudder this Friday, September 18. Mark your calendars and plan accordingly.
