It has been a very long wait, but it is almost over, as the much-anticipated video game Redfall is finally arriving next week. The vampire game has been delayed several times after first being announced several years back, but it is, indeed, coming, and we even have a carnage-filled launch trailer to prove it. Letโs have a look-see.
The trailer is largely a collection of cinematic visuals mixed in with some gameplay. Itโs all meant to get people hyped up for the release, which hails from Arkane Austin and Bethesda. Frankly, itโs got a good chance of doing its job, as this thing is loaded with impressive imagery, wild combat, and yes, blood. It looks like a blast. Will it all come together? We should be getting reviews sooner rather than later, but, for now, it seems like something to look forward to. As for the story? The synopsis reads as follows:
โThe island town of Redfall, Massachusetts, is under siege by a legion of vampires who have blocked out the sun and cut the citizens off from the outside world. Explore the open world and immerse yourself in a deep story campaign as you unravel the mystery behind the vampiresโ appearance. Ally with a handful of survivors against the creatures threatening to bleed the town dry.โ

For the gameplay, Redfall is an open-world, co-op, first-person shooter. Players can slay the undead alone or squad up with up to four-player co-op and face off against the vampires holding the island hostage. Pre-orders for the game are available now, but it wonโt be coming to PlayStation, so sorry to all of you PS5 owners out there. But if youโve got Xbox Game Pass, youโll get it on day one as part of the subscription.
Game Pass is probably the best bang-for-buck option, but the standard edition is available to purchase for $69.99. Unfortunately, thatโs the going rate for a new AAA game these days. Thereโs also the โBite Backโ edition, which goes for $99.99 and also includes Redfall Hero Pass with two future heroes, the Laser Beam Multi-Weapon Skin, the Tactical Knife Stake Weapon Attachment, the Northern Expedition Devinder Outfit, the Eyes in the Dark Jacob Outfit, the War Clothes Layla Outfit and the Engineer Volunteer Remi Outfit.
Redfall arrives May 2 for the Xbox Series X, Xbox Series S and PC, as well as Xbox Game Pass.
