The world of horror is full of malevolent mothers from Pam Voorhees to Margaret White, and it looks like we're about to get a brand new entry into the canon as Jessica Chastain wants to be our Other Mommy. Check out the new trailer for Blumhouse's latest below…
Hitting theaters on October 9 via Universal Pictures, Other Mommy is the latest from Host director Rob Savage, and is based on Josh Malerman's novel Incidents Around the House.
The adaptation, penned by Succession writer Nathan Elston, follows a young girl, Bela, who forms a relationship with a sinister entity in her home who looks uncannily like her own mother.
Jay Duplass (Transparent, Industry) and Arabella Olivia Clark (The Housemaid, The Hand that Rocks the Cradle), with Dichen Lachman (Severance), Arian Moayed (Succession) and screen legend Karen Allen (Indiana Jones films) also star in supporting roles.
Another from Atomic Monster and Blumhouse's merge, Saw and The Conjuring‘s James Wan produces Other Mommy for the former, with Michael Clear, Judson Scott, Macdara Kelleher, Savage, Malerman and Ryan Lewis serving as executive producers.
Other Mommy marks Chastain’s first return to horror in proper since appearing as the adult version of Beverly Marsh in It: Chapter 2, based on the Stephen King novel, and we can't wait to see her back in action.
