Host and The Boogeyman director Rob Savage is back with another nightmare as Universal Pictures today unveils the first trailer for Other Mommy, hitting theaters on October 9. See star Jessica Chastain as the titular malevolent mother below…
Also starring Jay Duplass (Transparent, Industry) and Arabella Olivia Clark (The Housemaid, The Hand that Rocks the Cradle), with Dichen Lachman (Severance), Arian Moayed (Succession) and screen legend Karen Allen (Indiana Jones films) in supporting roles, Other Mommy is based on Josh Malerman's novel Incidents Around the House, and follows a young girl, Bela, who forms a relationship with a sinister entity in her home who looks uncannily like her own mother. The adaptation is penned by Succession writer Nathan Elston.
Horror giants Atomic Monster and Blumhouse are also behind the film, with Saw and The Conjuring‘s James Wan producing for the former, with Michael Clear, Judson Scott, Macdara Kelleher, Savage, Malerman and Ryan Lewis serving as executive producers.
Other Mommy will be Jessica Chastain’s first return to proper horror since appearing as the adult version of Beverly Marsh in It: Chapter 2, based on the Stephen King novel, and we can't wait to see her back in action in our favorite genre.
