Every year, we anxiously await Universal Studios' Halloween Horror Nights reveal of haunted houses coming to the theme parks. But for some of us (that’s me) an equally exciting reveal is the absolute cornucopia of themed menu items. Your girl LOVES a novelty menu! Universal’s chefs go through (what I imagine to be) a painstaking process of finding the right blend of theme and deliciousness. Some of the themed food can admittedly be a bit off-putting, but is actually pretty tasty. (I’m lookin at you, Fallout roasted sting wing!)
This year’s houses include mega hits like Sinners, Evil Dead Burn, and Killer Klowns From Outer Space. The Prince of Darkness is joining the fun this year with Ozzy Osbourne: Prince of Darkness, Stranger Things returns for one last ride, and original house, Killceañera (a play on quinceañera) promises some good scares. Pinhead has such sights to show guests in the Hellraiser house, and Terrifier‘s Art the Clown returns to HHN this time to terrorize the Terror Tram.
If you ask me, that is some pretty fertile fare for the Universal chefs to draw from. So what do they have in store for us this year? Here are the best themed menu items coming to Halloween Horror Nights at Universal Studios Hollywood in 2026 and where to find them. We sampled a good chunk of the menu, but I'm looking forward to trying more when HHN kicks off on September 3.
No surprise here, the Sinners-inspired Southern menu takes the cake (bread pudding?) for most delicious. The only thing I didn’t try was the cleverly named “Pick Poor Robin Clean” chicken wings. But Remmick’s Burnt Ends, Pecan and Whiskey Bread Pudding, and the I Lied to You, I Love the Blues-berry cocktail were all delicious.

The Ozzy Osbourne themed Bark at the Naan (they can’t all be banger puns) was a standout. The naan taco is filled with chicken tikka masala, red cabbage, diced pineapple, lime crema and cilantro.

Now, I did not try The Prince of Darkness Cake. But it rules, and it’s the first thing I’m grabbing at Halloween Horror Nights this year. It would make for an epic wedding cake. Topped with a chocolate bat, the cake itself is a carrot cake with cream cheese mousse, coated in a black ganache, topped with chocolate mousse.

I did not sample the Beef Birria Tacos during the event, but I already know they are a staple. In a city filled with some of the best taco spots in the country, I was surprised by how tasty the Birria consomé was at all of places… Universal Studios. It’s a go-to. But for the full effect, do not skip the consomé. You have to heartily dip the tacos in the flavorful broth between bites.
The “Walking Taco” is another simple go-to staple I load up on every year.
As for the hands down winner of most delicious menu items I sampled, the top prize goes to… a hot dog. I know, I know. I was shocked by how tasty this thing was. The Battle Bus Dog is topped with Tostitos® nacho cheese sauce, coleslaw, Sriracha aioli, banana peppers, and crushed Hot Cheetos. It comes in the form of a giant 22″ all-beef hot dog (I had a MUCH smaller version), so either bring your friends to help tackle it or just bring along a hefty appetite.

Two other standouts on the list did not stick with me due to their amazing flavor profiles, but rather for their ultimate gross-out factor. The top two spots for this year’s grossest menu items go to the following.
The Grossest Halloween Horror Nights Menu Items
First up, we have the Terrifier-inspired Gut Wound. This sweet treat looks like a pile of poop when viewed in dim lighting. Upon closer inspection under normal lighting, the chocolate raspberry croissant does indeed have a reddish glaze that makes it look closer to a pile of bloody guts rather than the less appetizing poo poo platter. I did not have a chance to partake, but I heard it was good, and I would imagine a raspberry glazed croissant ranks pretty high on the yum scale.

If I handed you this next dish with no context, it would probably look pretty appetizing. Cheese? Good. Jerky? Good. But when it comes with the catchy moniker of “Skin & Chips Nachos”, it fully morphs something in my brain.
Behold, the “Skin & Chips Nachos” – spicy pork rinds topped with Tostitos® nacho cheese sauce and Jack Links beef jerky.

If you’re looking for something safe and reliable, the Hellfire Club Spicy Italian Sandwich was a solid sandwich! The Surfer Boy Pizzas also come in a cute branded box. A fair word of warning: The Five Nights At Freddy’s pizza boxes had a very long wait last year, so if you’re hoping to snag one of these boxes, I’d suggest getting in early.
Speaking of sweet packaging, stop by and pick up a Lament Configuration. What’s in the box? Solve the puzzle, Open the Box and you’ll find sinisterly sour donut bites filled with a blue raspberry filling. I think I was in the minority on this one, but I really enjoyed them! The mix of sour and sweet was a nice balance, and they didn’t veer too far in either direction for my taste buds.
