Following the success of the Resident Evil 2, 3 and 4 remakes, Capcom is officially set to give another entry in the iconic survival horror gaming series a fresh coat of paint, with a Resident Evil – Code: Veronica remake officially announced at Summer Game Fest:

A true cult classic in the Resident Evil canon, Code: Veronica, initially released in 2000 for the Sega Dreamcast, is widely considered to be one of the most rewarding games in the franchise – if you can get past how easy it is to softblock yourself thanks to limited supplies and character switches that aren't pre-warned.
The story follows Resident Evil 2 heroine Claire Redfield as she continues the hunt for her brother, Chris. The journey leads her to a remote prison island in the Southern Ocean and a research facility in Antarctica, where she has to take on zombies, mutated spiders, and a pair of siblings that make Flowers in the Attic look normal.
A Code Veronica remake has long since been rumored, and now is the perfect time for it. Resident Evil Requiem, the latest entry in the mainline series, set a record for the best-performing Resident Evil game of all time upon opening, boasting over seven million copies sold as of April. Needless to say, the Resident Evil series is on a high that is only going to continue to climb.
Resident Evil Veronica is set for release in 2027. Look out for more on the remake as we get it.
