Alexander Ullom's It Ends brings endless existentialism to theaters later this week, with NEON releasing a brand new trailer today ahead of the horror-thriller's August 28 release date:
Written and directed by Ullom, It Ends stars Akira Jackson, Phinehas Yoon, Mitchell Cole, and Noah Toth as four college kids caught in a road trip nightmare. A full synopsis reads as follows:
A group of recent grads head out on a late night drive for grub, hoping to enjoy one final hangout before their paths diverge. Instead, they accidentally turn onto a never-ending, two-lane hellscape surrounded by untold horrors and cosmic forces beyond their understanding. Cramped together inside a Jeep Cherokee and with the miles stretching infinitely ahead, they face a choice: embrace their new existence or fight to escape it.
Following its premiere at SXSW last year, It Ends was a hit on the festival scene with screenings at Fantasia, Overlook, Telluride Horror Show, the UK's Celluloid Screams, and more. The existential horror was also one of the inaugural titles to be added to Letterboxd's Video Store back in December.
NEON has already nabbed Ullom's sophomore feature, 4 x 4: The Event, which stars Sophia Lillis, Dylan Minnette, Quintessa Swindell, Maddie Phillips, Marcel Ruiz, Mitchell Cole, Jaden Smith, and Jacob Tremblay. The film follows eight contestants as they enter an illegal sensory-assault livestream where they must kill or be killed using only what they can order online. Think Battle Royale meets The Contestant.
It Ends drives into theaters on August 28.
