André Øvredal (The Autopsy of Jane Doe, Scary Stories to Tell in the Dark, The Last Voyage of the Demeter) returns to horror next month with Passenger, which gets its eerie first trailer today via Paramount Pictures.
Written by Zachary Donohue (The Den) and digital horror artist T.W. Burgess, in Passenger, after a young couple witnesses a gruesome highway accident, they soon realize they did not leave the crash scene alone, as a demonic presence called the Passenger that won't stop until it claims them both turns their van life adventure into a nightmare.

Starring in Passenger are Jacob Scipio (Bad Boys for Life), Lou Llobell (Foundation) and Oscar winner Melissa Leo (The Fighter).
Former Warner Bros. production executive Walter Hamada produces via his 18hz banner, alongside It screenwriter and Salem's Lot director Gary Dauberman via Coin Operated.
In a recent interview with Bloody Disgusting, Øvredal calls Passenger his “scariest” movie to date, and that he's had a riot watching audiences jump out of their skin at recent test screenings.
Passenger hits theaters on May 22, 2026. Check out a brand new poster below.
