Ed and Lorraine Warren are heading to the small screen.

Kinda hard to believe, but James Wan’s The Conjuring arrived all the way back in 2013, a whole-ass decade ago. In the years since, the “Conjuring Universe” franchise has generated a total of three The Conjuring movies, three Annabelles, The Curse of La Llorona, and will add its second go-round with The Nun later this year. All that within a decade!

But wait, there’s more: another The Conjuring is on the way! Written by The Conjuring 2 and The Conjuring: The Devil Made Me Do It screenwriter David Leslie Johnson-McGoldrick, the film will presumably revolve around another spooky misadventure with Ed and Lorraine Warren (Patrick Wilson and Vera Farmiga, respectively). As of this writing, details on the plot remain under wraps … but as of today, we do know what the film will be called.

According to the good folks at Bloody Disgusting, the next film in the Conjuring Universe will be titled The Conjuring: Last Rites.

Hearing that, one cannot help but wonder if this installment isn’t intended as the final The Conjuring movie, but that does seem unlikely. As mentioned above, they’ve still got The Nun 2 on the way, and besides: this franchise has generated over $2B for Warner Bros. We can’t imagine they’re in any rush to turn off that particular money faucet.

Nothing further to report on The Conjuring: Last Rites at this time, but we will of course be keeping our collective ear to the ground for updates, and will have ’em in front of you just as soon as we can write ’em up. Stay tuned!
