Just about a month ago, audiences at this year’s CinemaCon showcase in Las Vegas were treated to the very first footage from Blumhouse and David Gordon Green’s The Exorcist: Believer, a decades-later sequel to William Friedkin’s 1973 original. By all accounts, what that CinemaCon audience saw was intense, creepy, and well worth getting excited about.

As of this writing, that footage has yet to make its way online, but the image above (which comes to us from the official Blumhouse newsletter) has made its way online, and that’ll just have to tide us over until that trailer drops. Sure, this image tells us precious little about Green’s latest legacy horror sequel, but it’s nice to see the filmmaker in his element … and apparently in the process of raising a little hell.

In The Exorcist: Believer, Leslie Odom Jr. stars as a father whose child becomes possessed. His search for help brings him to one Chris MacNeil (Ellen Burstyn, reprising her role from the original Exorcist). Also starring in the film are Ann Dowd (Hereditary), Lidya Jewett (Nightbooks), Raphael Sbarge, Jennifer Nettles (The Righteous Gemstones) and Olivia Marcum. We also assume a demon or two will make an appearance.

The Exorcist: Believer will hit theaters on October 13th of this year, which means that trailer shouldn’t be too far away now. We’ll have it for ya just as soon as it’s available, so stay tuned, everyone!
