Jay Lycurgo and Nadia Parkes star as Nathan and Annalise.

The Bastard Son & The Devil Himself, Netflix’s new YA-horror-fantasy-drama series, gets a bonkers and bloody new trailer that promises witches, love triangles, gore and a hefty helping of teenage angst.

The Bastard Son stars Jay Lycurgo (Titans, War of the Worlds), Nadia Parkes (Doctor Who) and Emilien Vekemans (Zoufs). Multiple Brit Award and Mercury Music Prize nominee Róisín Murphy will also make her acting debut as powerful witch Mercury (check out some pretty iconic first looks of her here).

The series will hit Netflix just in time for Halloween, on October 28th, and the official synopsis for the show reads as follows:

Sixteen-year-old Nathan (Lycurgo) is the illegitimate son of the world’s most dangerous witch. Fearing he will follow in his father’s footsteps, Nathan is closely monitored throughout his childhood. As the boundaries between ‘good’ and ‘bad’ fray, Nathan – along with mischievous Annalise (Parkes) and charismatic Gabriel (Vekemans) – will soon discover who he truly is.

The Bastard Son & The Devil Himself was written by Joe Barton (The Lazarus Project) and is based on the Half Bad books by Sally Green. Colm McCarthy (Black Mirror, The Girl With All The Gifts) will direct a number of episodes, as will Rachna Suri (Mr Whippy) and Debs Paterson (Willow).

British indie pop group Let’s Eat Grandma composed the entirely original score for The Bastard Son, which can be heard in the trailer here:
