In today's hardly surprising but extremely exciting news - Danny and Michael Philippou's A24 mega-hit Talk to Me is officially getting a sequel. As if that news wasn't great enough? The sequel is entitled TALK 2 ME (god, we love those guys.)
This news comes just days after the announcement that the brothers (also known by their YouTube handle RackaRacka) have already shot a screenlife style prequel that focuses on the character Duckett from Talk to Me's shocking cold open.
Since premiering at Sundance's Midnights Section last year, Talk to Me has become another huge hit for A24, grossing a very cool $26 million worldwide and blessed the studio with their second-biggest box office opening ever (hardly surprising that the Aussie horror already had the studio begging for a sequel.) The iconic studio teased the upcoming sequel with an eerie tweet featuring The Hand, seen below.
If you haven't seen Talk to Me yet (or read our exclusive coverage in the latest issue of FANGORIA), the supernatural horror follows a group of teens (Sophie Wilde, Alexandra Jensen, Joe Bird, Otis Dhanji and Zoe Terakes) who decide to spice up their house parties by microdosing possession using a creepy embalmed hand. As expected, hijinx and horror follow.
While we wait for more updates on Talk 2 Me, you can check out our interview with the Philippou brothers and maybe go and see Talk to Me again in your local theater. That's our weekend plans for sure.
