I’ve been doing yoga for years, and even I know it’s been whitewashed to hell and back. Well, maybe not literally, but in the new horror comedy Namaslay, that seems to be exactly the case. A new trailer for the upcoming masala film has been released, teasing a journey that’s less spiritual enlightenment and more traumatic adventure.
Directed by filmmaking duo Rish and Kanish, Namaslay stars Kirunthuja Srikanth-Talim, Angela Sant'Albano, Alicia Mitchell-Mangual, Usha Krishnan, and Christina Moore. The film’s synopsis is as follows:
After arriving in Los Angeles, Gayatri accepts an invitation from her friend Judy to try an upscale yoga studio she's been dying to attend. When the owner, Reyna, offers Gayatri a chance to join her instructor training program, Gayatri decides to look past the obvious eccentricities and accept the job. As she reconnects with the practice of Yoga she first learned from her grandmother, Gayatri is eventually asked to attend the prestigious instructor's retreat, where she discovers the ulterior nature of her invitation.

Namaslay is the first feature from new production company Junghal Studios, founded by Rish and Kanish as a way of making “independent blockbusters” and preserving both cinematic scale and creative independence. Their lineup aims to honor artistic traditions from around the world, beginning with India’s classic masala films, mixing genres just like the spices in traditional cuisine.
Namaslay hits theaters in Los Angeles and New York on August 6 before expanding to other theaters on August 13.
