The folks at the Alamo Drafthouse have unveiled a brand new, limited edition Godzilla popcorn bucket. Expected to ship in January 2026, the bucket is based on the Show-Era Godzilla, which means itโ€™s based on the films spanning the original 1954 classic right up through 1975โ€™s Terror of Mechagodzilla. It retails for $45 and allows you to eat popcorn right from the kaijuโ€™s mouth. Check it out.ย

Pre-orders for the bucket are live now. Itโ€™s just the latest part of Alamoโ€™s ongoing celebration of Godzilla, which includes various merchandise, screenings and other goodness. The theater chain has also released several shirts, a pint glass and other merch, which can be ordered from the chainโ€™s website. As for the bucket? Alamo provided the following description:ย

โ€œFeed the King of the Monsters with this towering popcorn bucket, designed by Scott Sugiuchi. Godzillaโ€™s mouth opens wide to hold enough popcorn for an epic kaiju marathon, making it the ultimate collectible for Toho fans. From its 1954 debut to countless cinematic battles, Godzilla reigns supreme โ€“ and now he can reign over your popcorn stash too.โ€

Popcorn buckets have become all the rage in recent years. More than just tubs to put snacks in, these things have increasingly become surprisingly elaborate and are often sought after collectorโ€™s items. It would be easy to make a simple bucket featuring Godzilla iconography from over the years. Itโ€™s far more fun to make a Godzilla head that dispenses popcorn from its mouth.ย

Itโ€™s also a big time for the King of the Monsters in general. Godzilla Minus Zero, the sequel to the Oscar-winning Godzilla Minus One, is in the works and expected to hit theaters in 2026. Weโ€™ve also got Godzilla x Kong: Supernova, the latest entry in Legendaryโ€™s MonsterVerse, on deck for 2027. Thatโ€™s to say nothing of Monarch: Legacy of Monsters season 2 on Apple TV+. While that looks to put Kong front and center, itโ€™s hard to imagine Godzilla sitting that one out entirely.ย
