Cobweb writer Chris Thomas Devlin just lined up his next project. The screenwriter, who is also responsible for the 2022 version of The Texas Chainsaw Massacre on Netflix, is set to write Doomtown, a new survival horror film to be produced by Divide/Conquer, the production company run by Adam Hendricks and Greg Gilreath, as part of their new first look deal with Blumhouse & Atomic Monster.ย
While the synopsis for Doomtown is being kept under wraps, the film is set to be produced not only by Hendricks and Gilreath, but Atomic Monster founder James Wan as well, alongside Michael Clear, Ingrid Bisu, and Judson Scott. The film represents the first project under Divide/Conquerโs new deal with the production company known for its horror blockbusters, a partnership that is committed to โbuilding the next wave of genre storytellersโ and producing โhigh-concept, cost-efficient films.โย
โWhen Sundance introduced us to Jason in 2014 as our mentor, we could never have imagined the long and fruitful partnership that would follow,โ said Hendricks and Greg Gilreath in a statement. โEntering into this new chapter feels like a natural evolution of that early relationship. Weโre thrilled to deepen our collaboration with Blumhouse and to work more closely with the incredible team at Atomic Monster as we expand our combined slate. Together, weโll be able to pursue even more ambitious genre stories while continuing to grow Divide/Conquer as a home for the next generation of original voices,โย
Doomtown is not the only project Divide/Conquer is collaborating with Blumhouse and Atomic Monster on either. The company previously announced Anything But Ghosts, from Curry Barker and Cooper Tomlinson, who are set to write, star in, and produce the film, with Barker serving as director.ย
โAdam and Greg are exceptional creative partners who bring discipline and a deep understanding of genre. This deal strengthens our ability to develop fresh voices and build long-term relationships with filmmakers earlier in their careers,โ said Jason Blum. โAs we continue expanding across subgenres, this partnership gives us a focused vertical designed to champion bold ideas; work that has always been core to both of our companies.โ
No release date has been set for Doomtown. Stay tuned to FANGORIA for more updates as they arrive.ย
