Forget hot girl summer, we’re having Brian De Palma summer thanks to Alamo Drafthouse. The cinema chain just announced their lineup of special screenings and film series for May, which includes not only a tribute to the great director, but also a couple other horror classics along the way.

De Palma Summer — no, literally, that’s what they’re calling it — kicks off with a screening of the director’s 1976 classic Carrie on May 24, so you can catch up on your Stephen King adaptations before Mike Flanagan’s series comes out. Also featured in the program are Sisters, Body Double, Dressed to Kill, and Blow Out, as well as the first Mission: Impossible

Drafthouse will also be showing the iconic frenemies horror comedy Death Becomes Her as a part of their Meryl mania series, celebrating the work of Oscar winner Meryl Streep. The film closes out May for the chain as a part of their Movie Party series, which features props, themed drinks, and plenty of audience interaction. (Think Rocky Horror, but make it haute couture.)

And, as always, Alamo Drafthouse is home to Terror Tuesdays, an ongoing repertory series delivering late-night horror to cinemagoers across the country. Upcoming titles include both Blade and Blade II, as well as Hello Mary Lou: Prom Night II, The Gate, Slumber Party Massacre II, Saw II (I’m sensing a theme here), and the black and white “shush” cut of Mike Flanagan’s Hush

All of this programming runs alongside Alamo’s more traditional series selections, including Sad Girl Cinema Club, Weird Wednesday, and Queer Film Theory 101, as well as their AGFADrome series, which features a monthly mystery screening of a film from the American Genre Film Archive. So, if your parent/partner/sibling/best friend doesn’t want to see a scary movie, there’s still plenty on offer.
