Queer Screams Film Festival returns to Portland's Clinton Street Theater this August 14 – 16 for its fourth annual celebration of LGBTQ+ genre cinema from emerging and established queer artists within the community, with this year bringing two very special guests to the party.

Bryan Fuller (Hannibal, the multi Chainsaw Award-nominated Dust Bunny) will be the recipient of the 2026 Queer Screams Career Achievement Award: Honoring Significant Contribution to Queer Horror Cinema & Culture, with Queer Screams also hosting a special screening of Fuller's featuring debut, the aforementioned Dust Bunny. Here's what Fuller has to say of the honor:

“From Oscar Wilde to Bram Stoker to Mary Shelley to Clive Barker, there is a long illustrious history of Queer storytellers using their experience as outsiders to tell the tales that frighten us. I am so honored to be included in this year’s Queer Screams, celebrating the aliens and the alienated in a community diverse in its solidarity.”

Queer Screams is also welcoming another accomplished guest as Nancy Allen, the villainous Chris Hargensen of Brian De Palma's Carrie, will be presenting a 50th anniversary screening of the supernatural horror classic.

Before Carrie kicks off, attendees will also get to cut a rug at the live, in-person '70s Queer Prom, complete with vinyl-spinning DJ and a commemorative photo booth. A portion of the proceeds from this event will go to the WeSPARK Cancer Support Center.

Queer Screams Film Festival also boasts 30 new Queer genre films, live drag performances, live musical performances, a horror market, and more. For tickets and further info,  head over to the official fest site right here.
