After making a name for themselves as young heroes of horror, a couple of up and coming starlets are joining forces for a new YA film. Deadline reports that Xochitl Gomez, Madeleine McGraw, and Jack Champion are all set to star in Bad Influence, from director Jason Perlman.
Not to be confused with the 1990 psychological thriller of the same name starring James Spader, Perlman’s Bad Influence comes from a script by Brandon Cohen. Per Deadline, the film is “described as a modern-day Thelma & Louise fueled by female rage, following Isabelle and Kira on a road trip home for spring break, when they pick up a mysterious hitchhiker, who is not what he seems.”

Bad Influence is produced by Debbie Liebling alongside Joel David Moore and Zachary Burgess, the latter of whom are known best for Dodgeball: A True Underdog Story. Executive producers include Steven Silverstein, Cathy Raduns, Raymond Merrill, Carmelo Chimera, Syed Ali Saeed, Denis Schoenhofer, Natalie Kline, and Jarod Einsohn.
For McGraw and Champion, the film is just the latest in a series of horror projects, with McGraw starring in The Black Phone and its sequel, and Champion featuring in Scream VI, as well as the upcoming film My Boyfriend Is a Demon. Gomez recently starred in the Tubi original horror Hive, but is probably best known for starring as America Chavez in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness.
No release date has been set for Bad Influence. Stay tuned to FANGORIA for more updates.
