Slashers and novelizations and Cathy's Curses, oh my

Freelance Contributor at FANGORIA, since 2014

Brian was born and raised in a Massachusetts suburb not far from Salem, the best place in the world to let an interest in the horror genre blossom and thrive. His mother happily rented all of the Jason, Michael, and Freddy movies he wanted and even got him a Fangoria subscription for his birthday when he was 15. He moved to Los Angeles in 2005 and began writing for Bloody Disgusting within the next year, and also launched his own site Horror Movie A Day, which in turn led to frequently hosting screenings and Q&As, including one with his hero, John Carpenter. This led to being asked to be one of the inaugural writers for the much loved, much lamented Badass Digest (later Birth.Movies.Death), and it was there he became acquainted with the talented and incredible people who would later be in charge of bringing Fangoria back to life. In his spare time he enjoys karaoke, "Soulsborne" video games, jigsaw puzzles, and the occasional book that ISN'T a horror novelization. He lives in Los Angeles with his wife, son, and two very loud cats.
