April has some great choices among the Best Horror Movies Streaming on streaming services. First of all, the long-awaited second season of the monster hit The Last of Us is finally going to be released on Max this month. The series creators return to tell the continuing story of Joel and Ellie's attempts to survive among the rubble of the post-apocalyptic United States. From all reports, anticipation for the second season is even higher than the first as fans await the new story to unfold.
Arrow has the found footage shocker The Outwaters, a French found footage tale, Stephane, X-tro 3, and the 4K debut of Mute Witness, the cult film from 1995.
For David Cronenberg fans, the Criterion Channel has a special treat: a selection of some of his earliest horror films, including the first two, which have not previously been widely available. This list includes Rabid, Scanners, and the original version of Crimes of the Future.
Hulu is really cooking with gas with such films as E.L. Katz's film Azrael, starring Samara Weaving, Damian McCarthy's Oddity, and the Canadian film In A Violent Nature, directed by Chris Nash, which revamped the slasher film and had some of the most impressive gore of 2024.
Paramount+ has all three of the American Ring films and the hilarious horror parody Scary Movie.
Predators, demons, and Michael Myers haunt Peacock in April, and Prime has a brand new series starring Kevin Bacon about an undead bail bondsman pursued by Hell's minions.
Finally, Screambox has an exclusive premiere of Project MKHEXE and will stream off-the-wall cult films such as Shock Waves, Tammy and the T-Rex, and Santa Sangre.

Grave Encounters 2 (US): Tortured by the ghosts of the demonized insane asylum that killed the crew of Grave Encounters, film students fight to escape death as their own paranormal investigation goes terribly wrong in this horrifying sequel.
Rejected (UK/ Ireland/ US/ Canada): Inย Rejected, a short horror parody, three twisted tales of macabre horror unfold, all linked by an antiquated digital camera from 1997. The tales intertwine, creating a narrative that is both terrifying and hilariously absurd.

Santa Sangre:ย Avant guarde Chilean and French filmmaker Alejandro Jodorowsky's surrealist horror film about a former circus artist who escapes from a mental hospital to rejoin his armless mother, the leader of a strange religious cult, and is forced to enact brutal murders in her name as he becomes “her arms.”
Shock Waves: Visitors to a remote island discover that a reclusive Nazi commandant has been breeding a group of Zombie soldiers. If you guessed that this means the zombies are Nazi zombies, you are correct. Peter Cushing,ย Brooke Adams, and John Carradine star in this bizarre zombie flick.
Tammy and the T-Rex: An evil scientist implants the brain of murdered high-school student Michael into a Tyrannosaurus. He escapes, wreaks vengeance on his high-school tormentors, and reunites with his sweetheart, Tammy. Denise Richards and Paul Walker star in this bewildering film that has to be seen to be believed.
For true-crime fans, The New Detectives and The FBI Files will also be available on Screambox starting this month.
Project Mkhexe:ย A Screambox exclusive found footage film, Project MKHEXE,ย starts streaming on April 29. An aspiring filmmaker returns home after his younger brotherโs suicide, only to discover his brotherโs obsession with a malevolent conspiracy theory that threatens to destroy reality.
