April has some great choices among the Best Horror Movies Streaming on streaming services. First of all, the long-awaited second season of the monster hit The Last of Us is finally going to be released on Max this month. The series creators return to tell the continuing story of Joel and Ellie's attempts to survive among the rubble of the post-apocalyptic United States. From all reports, anticipation for the second season is even higher than the first as fans await the new story to unfold.
Arrow has the found footage shocker The Outwaters, a French found footage tale, Stephane, X-tro 3, and the 4K debut of Mute Witness, the cult film from 1995.
For David Cronenberg fans, the Criterion Channel has a special treat: a selection of some of his earliest horror films, including the first two, which have not previously been widely available. This list includes Rabid, Scanners, and the original version of Crimes of the Future.
Hulu is really cooking with gas with such films as E.L. Katz's film Azrael, starring Samara Weaving, Damian McCarthy's Oddity, and the Canadian film In A Violent Nature, directed by Chris Nash, which revamped the slasher film and had some of the most impressive gore of 2024.
Paramount+ has all three of the American Ring films and the hilarious horror parody Scary Movie.
Predators, demons, and Michael Myers haunt Peacock in April, and Prime has a brand new series starring Kevin Bacon about an undead bail bondsman pursued by Hell's minions.
Finally, Screambox has an exclusive premiere of Project MKHEXE and will stream off-the-wall cult films such as Shock Waves, Tammy and the T-Rex, and Santa Sangre.

Grave Encounters (US): A reality TV show crew film inside an abandoned mental hospital, where unexplained phenomena were reported. They quickly realize that the building is not only haunted but has no intention of ever letting them leave.
Grave Encounters 2 (US): Tortured by the ghosts of the demonized insane asylum that killed the crew of Grave Encounters, film students fight to escape death as their own paranormal investigation goes terribly wrong in this horrifying sequel.
Rejected (UK/ Ireland/ US/ Canada): In Rejected, a short horror parody, three twisted tales of macabre horror unfold, all linked by an antiquated digital camera from 1997. The tales intertwine, creating a narrative that is both terrifying and hilariously absurd.
from. beyond (UK/ Ireland/ US/ Canada): A kaleidoscopic vision portraying mankind’s first meeting with alien life, told through faux archival footage combined with practical FX, miniatures, and old-school in-camera trickery. Winner of the prestigious Méliès D'or in 2023.
They Called Me David (UK/ Ireland/ US/ Canada): David was created in a lab, a strange being of immense power. But they are also just a lonely child searching for their father.

Capsules (UK/ Ireland/ US/ Canada): After experimenting with mysterious substances, four chem students find themselves addicted in the worst way possible: they'll die unless they take more.
The Cold (The Game) (US): Three bored millionaires gather nine people at an old mansion to play “The Game.” If they can meet and conquer their fears, they'll receive a million dollars in cash. But all is not as it seems!
The Demons of Ludlow (US): The population of a small, quiet town prepares to celebrate the bicentennial anniversary of its founding, but the town of Ludlow has a very dark past. When a piano arrives at auction, the ghosts of its past return to seek retribution.

Hide and Go Shriek (UK/ Ireland/ US/ Canada): A group of teens decide to spend the night at a furniture store the father of one of them owns. A homeless ex-con security guard is staying the night, too. During the night, someone with a taste for cross-dressing breaks in and begins to pick off the teens one by one during a game of hide and seek. The killer changes clothes with each victim, male or female, when stalking the next one.
Hide & Seek (US): Sung-soo has everything that a man would want, but he suffers from insomnia and obsessive-compulsive disorder. When his estranged brother disappears, Sung-soo visits the shabby apartment complex where he’d been living and soon, strange things start to happen. Sung-soo's house keys disappear, and someone tries to break in when only his children are at home. Mysterious whispers are heard, terrifying the entire family. On April 25, subscribers in every territory can enjoy the 30th anniversary of Mute Witness (UK/ Ireland/ US/ Canada), making its 4K debut on Arrow.

Rings (2017): The second sequel in the American series of remakes that stars Mathilda Lutz (Revenge), Johnny Galecki, Bonnie Morgan, and Vincent D'Onofrio. It tells the story of a young woman who finds herself on the receiving end of a terrifying curse that threatens to take her life in 7 days.
Scary Movie: Director Keenan Ivory Wayans's wacky parody of horror movie conventions stars Jon Abrahams, Carmen Electra, Shannon Elizabeth, Anna Faris, Kurt Fuller, Regina Hall, Lochlyn Munro, Cheri Oteri, and Dave Sheridan. A year after disposing of the body of a man they accidentally killed, a bumbling serial killer stalks a group of dumb teenagers.
The Uninvited (2009): Anna returns home after a stint in a mental hospital, but her recovery is jeopardized by her father's new girlfriend and ghastly visions of her dead mother.

Prey: A prequel to the Predator series set in the United States of 1819. Naru, a skilled warrior of the Comanche Nation, fights to protect her tribe against one of the first highly evolved Predators to land on Earth, directed by Dan Trachtenberg and starring Amber Midthunder, Dakota Beavers, and Dane DiLiegro. This exciting film breathed new life into the franchise and has spawned an upcoming sequel.
Pulse: When their computer hacker friend accidentally channels a mysterious wireless signal, a group of co-eds rally to stop a terrifying evil from taking over the world. A remake of the Japanese film by director Kiyoshi Kurosawa, it stars Kristen Bell, Ian Somerhalder, and Christina Milian.
Shutter Island: Director Martin Scorsese's beautifully scary film about Two US marshals who are sent to a mental institution on an inhospitable island in order to investigate the disappearance of a patient that stars Leonardo DiCaprio, Mark Ruffalo, Ben Kingsley, Max von Sydow, and Michelle Williams.
Vampire Academy: Rose Hathaway is a Dhampir, half human-half vampire, a guardian of the Moroi, peaceful, mortal vampires living discreetly within our world. Her calling is to protect the Moroi from bloodthirsty, immortal Vampires, the Strigoi.
The Vatican Tapes: A priest and two Vatican exorcists must do battle with an ancient satanic force to save the soul of a young woman in this possession film that stars Olivia Taylor Dudley, Michael Peña, Dougray Scott, and Djimon Hounsou.

Growing Up with I Spit on Your Grave: In this documentary, Terry Zarichi, son of director Meir Zarichi, explores the myths behind the controversial film I Spit on Your Grave (1978) for the very first time.
House of the Long Shadows: An American author finds a dilapidated Welsh manor perfect for writing until the residents host a bizarre family reunion. Vincent Price, Christopher Lee, Peter Cushing, and John Carradine, four horror icons, work together on a horror film that they have never made before.
Santa Sangre: Avant guarde Chilean and French filmmaker Alejandro Jodorowsky's surrealist horror film about a former circus artist who escapes from a mental hospital to rejoin his armless mother, the leader of a strange religious cult, and is forced to enact brutal murders in her name as he becomes “her arms.”
Shock Waves: Visitors to a remote island discover that a reclusive Nazi commandant has been breeding a group of Zombie soldiers. If you guessed that this means the zombies are Nazi zombies, you are correct. Peter Cushing, Brooke Adams, and John Carradine star in this bizarre zombie flick.
Tammy and the T-Rex: An evil scientist implants the brain of murdered high-school student Michael into a Tyrannosaurus. He escapes, wreaks vengeance on his high-school tormentors, and reunites with his sweetheart, Tammy. Denise Richards and Paul Walker star in this bewildering film that has to be seen to be believed.
For true-crime fans, The New Detectives and The FBI Files will also be available on Screambox starting this month.
Project Mkhexe: A Screambox exclusive found footage film, Project MKHEXE, starts streaming on April 29. An aspiring filmmaker returns home after his younger brother’s suicide, only to discover his brother’s obsession with a malevolent conspiracy theory that threatens to destroy reality.
