Ready to return toย Fear Street? You sure will be after this sneak peek at behind the scenes filming footage from the set of Fear Street 1988: Prom Queen that Netflix have released today.
From director Matt Palmer (Calibre), the latest entry into theย Fear Street series is based on the 1992 R.L. Stine book of the same name. A plot synopsis reads as follows:
Welcome back to Shadyside. In this next installment of the blood-soakedย Fear Streetย franchise, prom season at Shadyside High is underway and the schoolโs wolfpack of It Girls is busy with its usual sweet and vicious campaigns for the crown. But when a gutsy outsider is unexpectedly nominated to the court, and the other girls start mysteriously disappearing,ย the class of โ88 is suddenly in for one hell of a prom night.

Just to remind you, it was Stine's books that served as the basis for the first Fear Streetย trilogy, directed by Leigh Janiak, which hit Netflix back in 2021 and told a complete story with Part 1: 1994, Part 2: 1978, and Part 3: 1666. The trilogy starredย Kiana Madeira (She Never Died), Sadie Sink (Stranger Things), Fred Hechinger (The Woman in the Window) and Maya Hawke (Stranger Things)
Today's behind the scenes teaser for Fear Street 1988: Prom Queen looks pretty damn true to the era of the late 80s, complete with perms, shoulder pads and gorgeously hideous polyester prom dresses. We also get a little glimpse of what seems to be a red hooded figure and a suspiciously sharp axe…
