We’ve all had a bad hangover, but hopefully it’s never ended with finding a dead body in your room. Unfortunately, that’s not the case for Ruby Modine and Mikaela Hoover, who star in the new trailer for Dead Giveaway, a new horror comedy coming to digital next month.
Written and directed by Ian Kimble in his feature debut, Dead Giveaway also stars Scout Taylor-Compton, Suzann Toni Petrongolo, Buddy Caine, Jeremy Feight, Jessie Allen Hitner, and Andrew Vogel. Modine and Hoover feature as two hungover best friends who must come to grips with what exactly happened on their last night out when they discover a dead man in Modine’s character Jill’s bedroom.

Together, Jill and her friend Lia must uncover exactly what happened while they were drunk and discover the killer, all before their 3PM brunch reservation. The film is based on Kimble’s 2015 short film of the same name, with Modine and Hoover executive producing alongside Hallee Adelman, Charlene Davis, Joseph Greco, and Richard Lauletta.
Dead Giveaway isn’t the only alcoholic horror-comedy to hit our screens this year. It follows on the heels of Tubi’s Buzzkill, starring Carrie’s Siena Agudong as a sorority girl who witnessed a murder, but finds that she can only remember the killer if she’s absolutely blasted.
It’s also the latest horror flick for Modine, the daughter of Stranger Things star Matthew Modine. Alongside co-starring in Happy Death Day, she’s also been in films like Satanic Panic and the remake of Silent Night, Deadly Night, while Hoover is best known for playing Cat Grant in James Gunn’s Superman.
Dead Giveaway arrives on digital on November 3.
