Watch where you walk at night, because this Halloween season, nowhere is safe. Today, Bloody Disgusting debuted the trailer for Dead of Night, a new ‘80s-inspired thriller starring Dermot Mulroney that hits theaters next month.

Directed by Derek Sulek from a script he co-wrote with Eric Durham, Dead of Night also stars Scott Grimes, Kirrilee Berger, Jake Busey, Julianne Arrieta, and Zach Justice. The film’s synopsis is as follows:

When the savagely mutilated body of a young woman is discovered, Elmwood Heights is plunged into terror. The newly elected mayor scrambles to organize a neighborhood watch, desperate to calm a community that no longer feels safe. But as the gruesome murders continue, Sheriff Weaver struggles to stop the masked killer before panic consumes the town.

Sensing a darkness that goes beyond simple murder, Kelly Weaver, the sheriff’s daughter, becomes determined to uncover the killer’s twisted motivation. As fear spreads from house to house, the residents of Elmwood Heights are forced to decide who they can trust, and whether their own neighbors may be hiding the truth. In Elmwood Heights, nowhere is safe.

“Dead of Night was inspired in part by the fear that gripped Los Angeles during the Night Stalker era,” the filmmakers told Bloody Disgusting, “So making the film here gave it an authenticity we couldn’t manufacture somewhere else. We’re incredibly proud of the local cast and crew who brought it to life and are excited to now bring an independent, LA-made horror film to audiences across the country.”

Dead of Night is produced by Oren Kamara, Sulk, and Dan Sheldon, with executive producers including Scott Grimes, Ann Koch, Doug Johnson, Matthew Ballard, and professional wrestler Chris Jericho.

Dead of Night arrives in theaters on November 13.
