Horror media moguls Dead Meat, aka James A. Janisse and Chelsea Rebecca, are expanding their empire with Fresh Meat, a brand new anthology horror movie that features segments from up-and-coming filmmakers.
Check out the first trailer, debuted earlier today by Bloody Disgusting, below:

From Dead Meat and Hades Films, Fresh Meat was born from Janisse and Rebecca's desire to support and elevate rising talent, with the pair putting out a call for submissions earlier this year.
Out of 500 shorts submitted, a lucky thirteen made the cut, receiving a $2,500 stipend to fund production. The thirteen segments, which hail from US, Canada, Japan, Australia, Austria and the Netherlands, will be part of Fresh Meat history alongside a wraparound segment, Sate the Screen, directed by Janisse himself.
Fresh Meat will be screening in select theaters for one night and one night only on October 12, where audiences can participate in showings by voting for their favorite short. The winner will take home a grand prize of $25,000.
Here's what Janisse and Rebecca have to say in a new statement:
We’ve been wanting to do this for a long time — hold a shorts competition to help identify and support the next generation of horror filmmakers […] Dead Meat has always been a champion of horror cinema, even before its recent mainstream success, which has been exciting to witness.
Now more than ever we’re getting smart, original, groundbreaking films in our beloved and historically underappreciated genre. We’re thrilled to join in on the fun and help contribute to that talent pool with Fresh Meat.
