After a long, long time in the development trenches, Peacock has finally announced a release date for Crystal Lake, the highly-anticipated Friday the 13th series.
Crystal Lake will premiere on… Thursday, October 15. While releasing on an actual Friday the 13th would've been a marketing stunt for the ages, we've already had two out of our allotted three in 2026, and the next one isn't until November – and we can't imagine Peacock wanting to pass up the chance to get an iconic slasher back on screens in time for Halloween.
The new Friday the 13th prequel series, hailing from A24 and set to stream on Peacock, stars Callum Vinson a young Jason Voorhees and Linda Cardellini as murder mommy Pamela Voorhees. The show is set prior to the accident that made Voorhees the killer we all know and love today.
Joining Vinson and Cardellini are William Catlett, Devin Kessler, Cameron Scoggins in a major legacy role, Gwendolyn Sundstrom, Nick Cordileone, Danielle Kotch, Phoenix Parnevik, Nancy Nagrant, and Joy Suprano, with Michael Lennox, Celine Held and Logan George, and Quyen Tran directing episodes.
Brad Caleb Kane, (It: Welcome to Derry) serves as writer, showrunner and executive producer on the series, with Victor Miller (original Friday the 13th scribe) onboard as an executive producer along with Marc Toberoff, Robert M. Barsamian, Robert P. Barsamian, and Stuart Manashil.
With a release date officially set in stone, we can't imagine it'll be long before a first Crystal Lake teaser is headed our way. Watch this space.
