Everyone's favorite cryptid has his own festival kicking off this weekend as Bigfoot Days Festival hits Estes Park, CO on April 24 and 25, with a special screening of new Bigfoot horror movie Squatch among the festivities. However, if you're not in the area and able to attend, never fear; we've got an exclusive clip from Squatch to make you a believer:
From Midwest filmmaker Tom Chaney (Frostbiter: Wrath of the Wendigo) and co-writer Bill Conger, Squatch stars former professional wrestler Jacob Southwick (a.k.a. Madman Fulton) as the titular beast, designed by David Greathouse (Tusk, The Killing of a Sacred Deer), along with Jack Chaney, Paige Weishuhn, and Thorns stars Cassandra Shomer, Jon Bennett and Bo Shumaker.
An official logline for Squatch reads:
After hearing of his estranged father's mysterious passing, a young man must venture to his family's cabin deep in the heart of Bigfoot country. What starts as a journey for answers soon becomes mortal combat with America's legendary beast, Sasquatch!
Squatch joins the grand canon of Bigfoot-focussed horror movies that includes Curse of Bigfoot, The Capture of Bigfoot, Exists from The Blair Witch Project director Eduardo Sánchez, and Bobcat Goldthwait's Willow Creek, to name but a few.
Squatch‘s premier at Bigfoot Days will come with red carpet arrival, photo and autograph opportunities with the actors, a comedian set, discussion panel with Chaney and stars, poster giveaway, merchandise and more.
