As Shudder brings their annual Halfway to Halloween event back for another year, Pluto TV has some equally terrifying programming to compete with it. The free streamer just announced their lineup for April Ghouls, a month-long celebration of all things horror featuring an extensive collection of classic, cult, and up-and-coming scary movies.
Designed especially for horror fans who “want to go all the way in,” Pluto is playing host to complete collections of franchises for the month of April, including Hellraiser, Children of the Corn, Paranormal Activity, Friday the 13th, and Scream. They join a lineup of over sixty much-beloved films available on-demand, with everything from Cloverfield, Cujo, and Christine to Invasion of the Body Snatchers and Fright Night available to fill out a spring scary movie marathon. But if remakes are what you’re after, they’ve got those too, with pairings of original and reimaginings including My Bloody Valentine, Carrie, and The Town That Dreaded Sundown.

April Ghouls is also anchored by thirteen of Pluto’s classic channels, where you can flip through and find a hidden gem like you’re still paying for cable. The steamer is home to plenty of franchise-specific channels, including The X-Files, The Addams Family, Dark Shadows, The Twilight Zone, The Walking Dead, and Ghost Hunters, as well as general channels like Pluto TV Horror, Cine Horror, Universal Monsters, Pluto TV Paranormal, and Supernatural Drama. (You can also click “Watch From Start” on any of Pluto’s channels to experience it all from the very start — definitely not something cable ever had.)
The whole celebration builds on last year’s Halloween Hits programming, which offered Pluto viewers their first-ever dedicated space for horror film. According to the streamer, genre viewership among young viewers (specifically women 18-24) is up 64% year over year, pricing that people are clamoring for more even outside of October.
Pluto TV’s April Ghouls celebration continues through April 30. For more details, you can check out their website.
