Pluto TV is one of my favorite places to go for underrated, hard to find horror, and they’re making things even better this October with a brand-new lineup of double features. The free streaming platform is upgrading its Double Feature Fridays for the month of October, with five weeks of programming featuring some of your favorite scary movies — and some you might’ve missed.
Presented in partnership with Entertainment Tonight, each double feature begins with a segment drawing from the news program's forty years of archival material, giving audiences a special behind the scenes view of each set of films before they begin.
The Halloween programming begins on October 2, featuring both halves of Quentin Tarantino’s Kill Bill, before segueing into the neo-Western thriller The Last Victim, starring Ron Perlman. Smile and the 2025 supernatural horror film Rosario join the list on October 9, while cult classic Jennifer’s Body is paired with Vampires of the Velvet Lounge on October 16.
The last two Fridays of the month are where things really kick off though. A Quiet Place Part II airs on October 23, followed by last year’s Australian supernatural horror Diabolic, about a young woman who must return to the cult in which she was raised. Finally, on October 30, Pluto begins their Halloween festivities with one of the most popular horror films of all time: Wes Craven’s Scream, paired with Sleepwalker, the last project of late scream queen Hayden Panetierre.
If none of those catch your fancy though, Pluto TV has plenty of horror programming to check out. My personal favorites are their 24/7 Twilight Zone and Universal Monsters channels, but they’ve also got plenty of classic horror films, like House of 1000 Corpses, Killer Klowns From Outer Space, I Know What You Did Last Summer, and more.
