It's April Fool's Day today, so we're a little wary of bringing you any news that clearly verges on prank territory, but apparently this is all too real – an officially Konami-licensed Silent Hill 2 body pillow featuring the survival horror game's troubled (to say the least) protagonist, James Sunderland.

From OKS GEAR, the same twisted minds who bought us another incredibly messed up piece of Silent Hill 2 merch, comes the James Sunderland body pillow, described as “a deeply questionable life choice” (we'll say), and “the most comfortable way to emotionally spiral”, which you'll know is very accurate if you've played either the OG Silent Hill 2 or Bloober Team's critically acclaimed remake from 2024.

Per OKS GEAR, the 5foot ultra-soft baby velvet pillow comes with a 100 count cotton pillowcase, because sadness should always feel premium. The pillow is inspired by actor Luke Roberts' face model of James in the aforementioned remake, rather than his more pixellated PlayStation 2 original.

Of course, those who have played Silent Hill 2 will know that – SPOILERS! – a pillow is what James used to smother his ailing wife Mary merely a few days prior to the events of the game, ultimately leading him down a delusional path of guilt and repression as his subconscious tries to reckon with what he's done. Needless to say, that gives the body pillow an extra layer of uncomfortably hilarity.

If you want to get yourself a James Sunderland body pillow, head over to OKS GEAR fast, because pre-orders for the one-time-only limited-item offer are only open for seven days. Check out the pillow below in all its glory, and for more survival horror goodness, here's our ranking of the 15 scariest Resident Evil moments across the franchise.
