Hospice care is no joke, but most nurses arenโt trained to deal with patients whoโve been possessed. Thatโs got to be worth some hazard pay, but even if it isnโt, FANGORIA is still excited to premiere the first teaser trailer for that exact story: Bury the Devil, a new possession horror film making its debut next week at this yearโs FrightFest Glasgow.ย
Directed by Adam OโBrien, who previously helmed the horror film Mom, Bury the Devil stars Dawn Ford, Emmanuelle Lussier Martinez, and Bill Rowat, unfolding in real time as a one-shot possession movie. The filmโs synopsis is as follows:ย
When nurse Julia finds herself trapped inside the home of her dementia patient, she begins to suspect things are not what they seem, something demonic is seeping through the cracks of this old home. Trapped and with nowhere to turn, Julia soon finds herself in battle to rid the house of this evil before it is too late.
Bury the Devil is OโBrienโs second full-length feature after Mom, which premiered in 2024 and starred Schittโs Creek alum Emily Hampshire. Heโs also directed segments for TV projects like Nightmare Radio and Asylum: Twisted Horror and Fantasy Tales, as well as numerous shorts like Banshee and Blood Bath. Heโs also working on another film, Bury the Devil: Origin, which is currently in pre-production.ย
Bury the Devil will have its world premiere at FrightFest Glasgow on March 6 at 1:30PM at the Glasgow Film Theatre. The new film joins a superb lineup of films screening over two days at the Scottish festival, on a list that also includes Boorman & The Devil, The Restoration at Grayson Manor, Bonekeeper, and Karmadonna.ย
