Following its premiere at FrightFest Glasgow earlier this year, possession horror Bury the Devil is creeping into select theaters and On Demand on August 21, with Brainstorm Media today unleashing an eerie new trailer:
Directed by Adam O’Brien, who previously helmed the horror film Mom, from a screenplay by Brad Hodson and John Petrizzi, Bury the Devil stars Dawn Ford, Emmanuelle Lussier Martinez, and Bill Rowat, unfolding in real time as a one-shot possession movie. An official synopsis reads:
When her dementia patient begins behaving strangely, a nurse suspects things are not what they seem. As the night unfolds, she soon discovers she is trapped with a demonic presence seeping through the cracks of the old home.
Bury the Devil is O’Brien’s second full-length feature after Mom, which premiered in 2024 and starred Schitt’s Creek alum Emily Hampshire. He’s also directed segments for TV projects like Nightmare Radio and Asylum: Twisted Horror and Fantasy Tales, as well as numerous shorts like Banshee and Blood Bath. He'll also return for the prequel of a planned Bury the Devil trilogy, currently in development.
