Fresh off the steamy success of Heated Rivalry, star Hudson Williams has secured his next project with a starring role in the genre-bending Yaga, a mystery-thriller series set to debut on Canadian streamer Crave.
Williams stars alongside Carrie-Anne Moss (The Matrix), Noah Reid (Schitt’s Creek) and Clark Backo (Letterkenny) in the eight-episode series, which is based on the hit play by Canadian playwright Kat Sandler. The play is a modern retelling of the myth of Baba Yaga, a female character from Slavic folklore who is depicted as a wicked witch who lives in a hut built on chicken legs. No news yet on who'll be providing the legs.
Sandler will serve as writer and showrunner on Yaga which centers on Rapp (Reid), “a private investigator who arrives in a small coastal town to investigate the disappearance of a young heir to a powerful fishery, Henry Park (Williams):
He finds himself at odds with an apprehensive local detective, Carson (Backo), a charismatic university professor with a taste for younger men, Katherine (Moss), and a labyrinth of enigmatic suspects, secret lives, and ancient magic.
Co- directors are David Frazee and Rachel Talalay (Endgame).

Alongside co-star Connor Storrie, Williams is one of the hottest new names in town at the moment following his breakout role as hockey pro Shane Hollander in Heated Rivalry. We're more than happy to see him dipping his toes into our favorite genre – hopefully a full-length vampire pic is in his future, which he'd nail if his role as Nosferatu in Love Lucille's “Lights On” music video is anything to go by.
