Director Erik Bloomquist’s horror/comedy She Came from the Woods is finally getting a Blu-ray release. Having initially premiered in 2022 at FrightFest, the camp slashers stars Cara Buono (Stranger Things) and William Sadler (The Shawshank Redemption) and has been available to stream on Tubi for some time. But for physical media lovers out there, the folks at Vinegar Syndrome now have a limited edition Blu-ray available for pre-order.

Some bad news right off the bat; the special limited edition slipcover edition, which was limited to 500 units and features a gorgeous cover from Creepy Duck Design, is already sold out on the website. Though it is said to be available at select retailers, but no major retailers will be stocking them. The good news? The standard edition is available and currently goes for $26.49, though its retail price is listed at $36.98. It’s available for pre-order now at VinegarSyndrome.com.
The release hails from ETR Media, the brand new film distribution arm from the folks at Enjoy the Ride Records. The Long Island based record label specializes in cult following reissues through a variety of genres. ETR Media boasts that these releases will adhere to the same quality standards as fans have come to associate with their LP reissues. Vinegar Syndrome’s sister company, OCN Distribution, is representing this new home video line. As for what’s included? Here’s a breakdown of the disc:

Even though Vinegar Syndrome isn’t directly involved with the production of the release, having them associated in any way is a good sign. Vinegar Syndrome has brought everything from Michael Mann’s The Keep to Tank Girl to Blu-ray. It appears that ETR Media is looking to keep that same spirit of quality alive with its new label.
As for the movie itself, it’s based on the 2017 short of the same name, with Blue Finch Films acquiring the rights after its festival run. For the past few years, it’s only been available on streaming. For those who may not be familiar, the synopsis reads as follows:
“In 1987, a group of counselors accidentally unleash a decades’ old evil on the last night of summer camp. As the situation turns bloody, the group is forced to confront what stories are worth telling and what secrets are worth keeping.”
