Our annual ceremony shifts to Halloween season with David Dastmalchian hosting and a killer roster of presenters.

We are back, baby, and we can't keep the secret any longer! You've asked for it, and now we're here to give you the answer to your burning questions. The 2024 FANGORIA Chainsaw Awards will premiere on Sunday, October 13th at 9pm ET, exclusively on Shudder. Fango friend David Dastmalchian (Late Night with the Devil, Oppenheimer) returns to host for the fourth year in a row, and we could not be more excited to welcome him back. This time, he's joined by… well… me, Angel Melanson! That's right, the cat's out of the bag, and somehow, in this wild Matrix reality we are living in, I get to join the beloved Dastmalchian as co-host. (What is this life?!)

David is also up for Lead Performance nominee for Late Night With The Devil, and our iconic 2024 presenters include Skeet Ulrich (Scream, Riverdale), Madeleine McGraw (The Black Phone, the upcoming The Necklace), Dewayne Perkins (The Blackening, for which heโ€™s also nominated as Best Supporting Performance) and Lauren LaVera (the upcoming Terrifier 3).

Because we've shifted to an October show, our nomination window this year was rather massive, which led to an absolutely stacked list of nominees, which include Evil Dead Rise, M3GAN, Infinity Pool, The First Omen, I Saw the TV Glow, Yellowjackets and Chucky.

โ€œWe couldnโ€™t just drop a 2023 awards show in October of 2024, so our nominees represent the best of not only all of last year, but the first half of this year,โ€ said producer and FANGORIA editor-in-chief Phil Nobile Jr. โ€œThis of course meant an unprecedented, absolutely brutal level of competition across 18 months of movies and shows. But itโ€™s the Chainsaw Awards; getting a little bloody is, after all, totally on-brand for us.โ€

The special is written and directed by Michael Varrati (Thereโ€™s A Zombie Outside, the Midnight Mass podcast), and is produced by Armen Aghaeian, Rebekah McKendry and Nobile. Executive Producers are FANGORIA Studiosโ€™ Tara Ansley and Abhi Goel.

โ€œGenerally speaking, horror fans love things that defy convention. To that end, with each passing year weโ€™ve been looking to push the Chainsaws into a space that exists past the traditional award show structure,โ€ says Varrati. โ€œThis is an event that allows us to celebrate the genre that we love, while also crafting a television special that fits firmly inside of it. We wanted to give audiences a show that not only celebrates horror creatorsโ€ฆbut horror fans.โ€
