If youโ€™re a fan of horror anthologies, youโ€™re more than familiar with the V/H/S movies. Now that weโ€™ve got V/H/S/Beyond on the horizon, itโ€™s time for FANGORIA to exclusively unveil the poster for the sci-fi themed entry in the popular Shudder series!

The V/H/S/Beyond poster proclaims that there is โ€œno safe space,โ€ both a pun on its galactic-themed art and a sordid truth if youโ€™re at all familiar with the franchise. Itโ€™s a stonerโ€™s worst nightmare, all bright colors and a wide-open maw of death, with the tiniest hint of humanity hiding inside. It bears an obvious similarity to V/H/S posters past, all of which feature skulls in some form or another, and reflects the sci-fi theme of this yearโ€™s installment.

Beyond is the seventh installment in the V/H/S franchise, after the titular first film became a hit and spawned numerous sequels, including V/H/S/2, V/H/S: Viral, V/H/S/94, V/H/S/99, and V/H/S/85, the latter of which hit Shudder last year. The series has seen numerous acclaimed writers and directors contribute their ghoulish points of view to each anthology, with segments from the likes of Ti West, Radio Silence, Justin Benson and Aaron Moorhead, Flying Lotus, and The Guestโ€™s Simon Barrett and Adam Wingard.

Beyond, though, might just have the most exciting lineup yet. Most notably, scream queen, Midnight Mass star, and all-around icon Kate Siegel will be making her directorial debut with the segment โ€œStowaway,โ€ written by her husband and longtime collaborator Mike Flanagan. Beyond flips the script for the two of them, whose usual working relationship involves Flanagan as director and Siegel as the on-screen talent being tortured, killed, or otherwise traumatized in his various ghoulish creations. (With love, of course.)

But the line-up goes beyond just Siegel, with segments from Jordan Downey, Christian & Justin Long, Justin Martinez, and Virat Pal, as well as a โ€œspecial presentationโ€ from How to Build a Time Machineโ€™s Jay Cheel. Whatโ€™s so special about it, we donโ€™t know, but thatโ€™s the joy of the V/H/S franchise: thereโ€™s always something to discover.

Fantastic Fest attendees will be the first to see V/H/S/Beyond when it premieres this month, but for the rest of us, it hits Shudder on October 4, in time for spooky season. In the meantime, you can check out the out-of-this-world poster below.
