Top Horror Movies Streaming This Week

The sequel to the 2019 horror comedy hit, Ready or Not, has now claimed the number one spot this week. The violent and bloody continuation of the story of the bride who was forced to play a lethal game of Hide and Seek on her wedding night stars Samara Weaving,  Kathryn Newton, Sarah Michelle Gellar, Shawn Hatosy, David Cronenberg, Kevin Durand, Néstor Carbonell, and Elijah Wood.

Grace MacCaullay doesn't get a break as the events of Ready or Not 2: Here I Come take place almost immediately following the harrowing, if hilarious, events at the Le Domas estate. Co-directors Matt Bettinelli-Olpin and Tyler Gillett have returned to direct the script, which was penned by the same co-authors of the original Ready or Not script, Guy Busick and R. Christopher Murphy.

Ready or Not 2: Here I Come is now streaming on Disney+ and Hulu.

The gruesome re-envisioning of the classic Universal Monster, The Mummy, by director Lee Cronin, has moved up on the top horror movies streaming this week list, improving its standing from number three to number two.  Cronin is best known for his brutal sequel, Evil Dead Rise, in the film series created by Sam Raimi. For anyone who already knows his work, The Mummy does not disappoint, with its disturbing story and perverse sense of humor.

Jack Reynor, Laia Costa, May Calamawy, Natalie Grace, and Verónica Falcón star in the film about a family whose daughter disappears in Egypt, and the child that returns eight years later is not the same as the little girl they cherished. Cronin has taken the story in a different direction with his script, one that brings an Egyptian demon, the Nasmaranian, to a family worn with grief, and who have no idea what has really happened to their little girl.

The Mummy is now streaming on HBO Max.

There are no participation trophies for the doomed volunteers who take part in The Long Walk. It is a bleak vision of a fascist 1970's United States that is controlled by a seemingly benevolent dictator called The Major, who was conjured up by Stephen King's pseudonymous identity, Richard Bachman, and takes the usually benign idea of going for a walk and makes it into a violent and ruthless contest for survival. Director Frances Lawrence and screenwriter JT Mollner create a film that is a raw story of desperate survival at war with the finest impulses of brotherhood.

How would it feel to compete for your life against people that you have just met and started to get to know? Other people whom you grow to like and admire despite the circumstances, who also have loved ones and the all too human desire to survive, no matter what it takes? It is the actors Cooper Hoffman, David Jonsson, Garrett Wareing, Tut Nyuot, Joshua Odjick, Charlie Plummer, Ben Wang, Roman Griffin Davis, Josh Hamilton, Judy Greer, and Mark Hamill who show how humanity can grow in lonely minds and the most desperate situations.

The Long Walk is now streaming on HBO Max and Starz.

You can't keep a determined survivor down, a fact that is proven by the reappearance of Sam Raimi's newest fright film, Send Help, in the top ten. The respected director insisted on a theatrical release for his newest film, when the studio wanted to release it as a streaming exclusive, and Raimi's belief in his movie was vindicated after Send Help became a box office hit.

Rachel McAdams and Dylan O'Brien star as the employee and her boss who switch places after they are marooned on a deserted island after the company's private jet crashes into the Gulf of Thailand. Raimi first worked with Rachel McAdams on the film Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, and according to an interview with Total Film, he promised himself he would work with her again because she was a “brilliant actress” who deserved a more challenging role.

Send Help is now streaming on Hulu.

Zazie Beetz, Myha'la, Paterson Joseph, Tom Felton, Heather Graham, and Patricia Arquette star in They Will Kill You, in which a woman who has just been released from prison applies for a job as a maid at a 100-year-old hotel and finds an immortal evil. It is the first film in the top ten that features the use of a dumbwaiter, a ritzy elevator for food that is used as an escape route or hiding place.

They Will Kill You has cinematography by Isaac Bauman, who was the director of photography for Daniel Goldhaber's Faces of Death reinterpretation. Russian director Kirill Sokolov shares writing duties with co-writer Alex Litvak, who co-wrote Nimród Antal's Predators, and the film goes wild with a furious fight to the finish.

They Will Kill You is now streaming on HBO Max.

When you hear a frightening sound, in a way, it is a different kind of terror; sounds aren't something you can see and rule out as dangers to your person. A sound could be any number of things, but in the end, something made that sound. It could be something innocuous or evil incarnate. Nina Kiri, Michèle Duquet, Adam DiMarco, Keana Lyn Bastidas, and Jeff Yung play the parts, seen and unseen, in this story where your ears could be telling you stories that aren't true.

Evy, the central character and podcaster, starts to experience chilling occurrences that cannot be explained. How much of what is happening is real, and how much of it comes from the imagination? As she starts to fear the worst, the evidence starts to mount for the skeptic who doesn't believe in the supernatural.

Undertone is now streaming on HBO Max.

Now that the sequel to the adored horror comedy from 2019 has reached streaming, Ready or Not 2: Here I Come, it makes sense that the film that brought Le Bail and his gory punishments to the screen is also in the top ten this week. Obviously, streaming services have caught on that fans love to watch the previous films in a series, either when the sequel or reboot is in theaters or when it is at home. It doesn't matter because horror fans love a good binge-watch.

Samara Weaving as Grace MacCaullay, a blushing bride who is underestimated by her devilish in-laws, along with Adam Brody, Mark O'Brien, Elyse Levesque, Nicky Guadagni, Henry Czerny, and Andie MacDowell. Where the family expects a compliant and terrified victim, Grace turns the tables on them with her dogged survival instinct and improvised combat skills. Ready or Not is the second film that uses a dumbwaiter as a frightful plot point in this week's top ten.

Uruguayan writer and director Fede Álvarez brought the Evil Dead series back to gruesome and blood-drenched life with his first feature film, simply titled Evil Dead. The fact that it was Álvarez's debut might have gotten lost in the minds of fans, but it has a self-assurance and daring that is remarkable. It stars Jane Levy, Shiloh Fernandez, Lou Taylor Pucci, Jessica Lucas, and Elizabeth Blackmore.

HBO Max is streaming all five of the Evil Dead movies in celebration of the release of the sixth film in the franchise, Evil Dead Burn, in theaters.  They have made it easy for you to refresh your memories of the series, or for you to schedule your own Evil Dead marathon at home.

Kevin and Matthew McManus co-directed this revenge story about a mother who repeatedly kills her daughter's murderer in multiple alternate universes.  Now, that's really not letting someone get away with murder when you make several different versions of them dead over and over again as punishment. Michaela McManus (One Tree Hill), Stella Marcus, Jim Cummings (The Wolf of Snow Hollow), and Grace Van Dien (Stranger Things) star in this melding of science fiction and vengeance.

The film, which is also known as Find. Kill. Repeat made its debut at the South by Southwest Film Festival in 2025 and has a 97% fresh rating with film critics at Rotten Tomatoes.

Redux Redux is now streaming on Hulu.

After Irish director Lee Cronin's twist on the classic monster movie, The Mummy, was released to streaming services, HBO Max has also made the filmmaker's fearsome sequel, Evil Dead Rise, available for the enjoyment of fans who can't get enough of on-screen demonic possession. Of course, there is a double purpose to HBO's choice to feature Cronin's second film, as it is also part of the Evil Dead series, which also has a new film that has recently hit theaters.

Lily Sullivan, Alyssa Sutherland, Morgan Davies, Gabrielle Echols, and Nell Fisher star as the members of a family that becomes the target of Deadites after playing a recording of the feared and forbidden Necronomicon. The Deadites test their family bonds to a disturbing extreme. The film, originally slated as a streaming release on HBO Max, was unleashed into theaters after very positive audience reactions at test screenings.

Evil Dead Rise is now streaming on HBO Max.
