Looks like the gang is getting back together for The Mummy 4. Deadline reports that both Oded Fehr and Kevin J. O’Connor will be returning for the upcoming sequel, joining their co-stars Brendan Fraser and Rachel Weisz for one hell of a reunion.

Fehr returns to play Medjai warrior Ardeth Bay, friend of Rick and Evie O’Connell, while O’Connor will reprise his role as Beni, the sniveling sidekick who betrays Rick for his own gain. They’re joined by new additions Numan Acar and Obsession star Michael Johnston, though details on who those two will play are being kept under wraps.

The new addition in the franchise is directed by Radio Silence, from a script by David Coggeshall. No plot details have been revealed, but franchise veteran John Hannah, who plays Evie’s bumbling brother Jonathan, is also set to return, meaning that all four protagonists of the original films are back together for a brand-new adventure.

Original producer Sean Daniel is back to produce, alongside William Sherak, James Vanderbilt, and Paul Neinstein.  According to sources, the new film is not a reboot, but rather a direct sequel to 2001’s The Mummy Returns, which would completely ignore the events of The Mummy: Tomb of the Dragon Emperor, which not only pulled the franchise away from Ancient Egypt but also replaced Weisz with Maria Bello.

With the return of the entire core cast from the original film, save for Arnold Vosloo as Imhotep, it seems like Universal is trying to erase that film from existence, which seems like it might be for the best, based on the public reception of the third film.

The Mummy 4 hits theaters on October 15, 2027.
