We finally have some details about It Follows director David Robert Mitchell’s newest film, and boy does it look like a doozy. Warner Bros. just released the first teaser trailer for The End of Oak Street, a twisted suburban story starring Anne Hathaway and Ewan McGregor that hits theaters in August, and features…a dinosaur?
Directed by Mitchell from his own script, The End of Oak Street stars Hathaway and McGregor as a pleasant suburban couple with two children (Maisy Stella and Christian Convery) whose life is suddenly and literally uprooted into chaos. The film’s synopsis is as follows:
After a mysterious cosmic event rips Oak Street from suburbia and transports their neighborhood to someplace unknown, the Platt family soon discovers that their very survival depends on them sticking together as they navigate their now unrecognizable surroundings.

The End of Oak Street is produced by Mitchell alongside J.J. Abrams, Hannah Minghella, Jon Cohen, Matt Jackson, and Tommy Harper, with executive producers Chris Bender, Jake Weiner, Joanne Lee, and Leeann Stonebreaker. The film is Mitchell’s first since 2018, when he directed Andrew Garfield in Under the Silver Lake, and his fourth after The Myth of the American Sleepover and It Follows — the latter of which is finally getting a sequel twelve years after it was released, with filming beginning later this year.
Behind the camera, Mitchell is joined by director of photography Michael Gioulakis, production designer Maya Shimoguchi, editor John Axelrad, and costume designer Erin Benach, as well as Academy Award-winning composer Michael Giacchino.
The End of Oak Street hits theaters on August 14.
