It's not often thatย Peachfuzz meets his match in someone who makes him look like a normal, upstanding member of society, but in “Angela”, the sixth and final episode of Shudder'sย The Creep Tapes, the wolf-masked maniac is practically a wallflower.

Joining series co-creators Patrick Brice and Mark Duplass for the latest chapter of the cult found-footage series, which is now fully available to binge on Shudder and AMC+, isย Legion andย The League star Katie Aselton, who also just so happens to be Mrs. Peachfuzz in real life as Duplass' wife. Matching Peachfuzz in intensity, adorability and downright psychopathy, there's truly nobody better than Aselton to bring The Creep Tapes Season 2 to a close in an episode thatย expands on the Creep mythos more concretely than ever before by bringing back a key character from the 2014 movie that started it all.

Real Creep-heads will immediately recognize Angela as the wife of “Josef”, Peachfuzz's first alias, who later tells Aaron (Brice) that she is in fact the sister of the sadistic killer. While Angela was entirely off-screen forย Creep, with Aselton providing her voice, in this episode she is well and truly center stage, ushering us through an incestuous psychosexual nightmare armed with a pair of fluffy pink kitten heels and a blender full of strawberry daiquiri.

“The question of Angela's character, who she is and what is her actual relationship with Mark's character, is one that constantly comes up online and in person,” Brice expands on bringing Angela back into theย Creepiverse. “We loved the challenge of crafting an episode in which we were answering as many questions as we were creating new ones. It was so much fun to confront this head on in this episode.”

Don't expect any clear answers about why Peachfuzz is the way he is though, not just yet anyway. “Hopefully this will provide some satisfaction for people,” Brice says “and we will be forgiven for creating as many new threads to pull as we do tying up old ones.”

As Peachfuzz's sister or wife, or possibly both, Angela sends the second season out with a bang (almost literally, before ‘Fuzz rebuffs her advances). In a secluded sensual grotto in Chatsworth, Los Angeles (where Brice reports being “so creeped out that I didn't leave my bed for 12 hours”), Duplass and Aselton take full advantage of their natural closeness and chemistry by going absolutely balls-to-the-wall bonkers, something Brice has been excited to see for a good long while:

“I've known Katie for almost 20 years and we'd never had the chance to work together on a project until this one,” he recalls, “I feel so lucky that our first chance was with this character. I've been watching her as a performer over the years and have never seen her so unhinged and strange as she is in this episode. She's able to pull off a kind of magic trick here, going full tilt into insanity while displaying an inner sadness that makes you feel her pain and empathize with her character. I adore this madness.โ€

Duplass similarly has nothing but praise for his favorite co-star: “Hereโ€™s the thing about Katie,” he tells us, “She is erudite. Refined. Elegant. And downright regal at times. But you havenโ€™t experienced the best of what Katie Aselton can do until youโ€™ve seen her play a deranged, unhinged, drunken version of a real housewife. Cue Angela.”

As for the lady herself, Aselton was more than happy to oblige said madness. “I absolutely loved working on this episode!” she says, “It will go down as one of my favorite acting experiences I've ever had… Finding the character of Angela unlocked my own inner Creep and having the freedom to experience the unhinged insanity of it all was truly delightful!”
