John Carpenter’s Tales of Science Fiction, the anthology comic series produced by the horror legend himself, has found its latest installment, and it’s a doozy. Storm King Comics has just released the trailer for PAUSE, a new series from writer Matthew K. Manning and illustrator Conor Boyle, all about what would happen if time stopped for all but one person on Earth, granting them unlimited power.

The trailer, set to Carpenter’s song “Beyond the Gallows,” featuring Cody Carpenter and Daniel Davies, gives us a brief outline of the six issue series, which will be released monthly from Storm King Comics. The logline for the series is as follows:

What if time stopped for everyone but you? Would you stay in the nicest Manhattan penthouse, ignoring the frozen owner standing in the corner of the room? Would you eat at the finest restaurants, their food paused in time and still hot on the plates? And if you could unfreeze anyone with just a touch, would you? Or would you keep this newfound playground for yourself? You could live anywhere. Take anything. The world would be yours. Unless, of course, you unpaused the wrong people…

PAUSE is the eleventh story in the tales of Science Fiction anthology, which also includes titles like VAULT, VORTEX, THE STANDOFF, TWITCH, and SURVIVING NUCLEAR ATTACK, all of which are available through Storm King Comics. The publisher also produces John Carpenter’s Tales For a HalloweeNight, another anthology series featuring “a collection of stand-alone horror and sci-fi horror tales, celebrating our favorite night of the year.”

Issue one of PAUSE hits stands tomorrow, February 26, with issue two out on March 26. Check out the new trailer below:
