The finale of Stranger Things might still be fresh in people's minds (not to mention in the discourse), but Netflix is wasting no time in getting the first spinoff on screens, with today bringing a new trailer for Stranger Things: Tales from '85.
Premiering on April 23, the animated series sees Eleven, Mike, Dustin et al returning in animated form. Set between Season 2 and 3, and creatively uses โloopholesโ from the show to explain why Hawkins is still under siege from the Upside Down despite being setย after Eleven closes the gate.
Taking over the roles of the iconic characters introduced in the record-breaking Stranger Things are Brooklyn Davey Norstedt as Eleven, Jolie Hoang-Rappaport as Max, Luca Diaz as Mike, Elisha โEJโ Williams as Lucas, Braxton Quinney as Dustin, Benjamin Plessala as Will, and Brett Gipson as Hopper. Odessa Aโzion, Janeane Garofalo, and Lou Diamond Phillips also voice undisclosed parts.
Eric Robles (Fanboy & Chum Chum, Glitch Techs) serves as showrunner for Tales from โ85, with Stranger Things creators the Duffer Brothers executive producing. Flying Bark Productions (What Ifโฆ?) is on animation duties, and from the looks of today's new trailer, the animation style is going for a blend of adorable and creepy, a perfect fit for a show focussed on the kids of Hawkins.
