As Halloween approaches, so does the release of Oni Press’s new Sabrina the Teenage Witch series, and they’ve got a special release planned for the first issue. Today, they unveiled a brand new midnight release campaign for the first installment of the new ongoing series, with special discounts and variant covers for those who attend.
Coming from artist Kano and writer Corinna Bechko, Sabrina the Teenage Witch #1 hits shelves in October, with variant covers by Marguerite Sauvage, Naomi Franc, Caroline Cash, Chloe Brailsford, Dan Parent, Erica Henderson, and Mahmud Asrar. The series’ synopsis is as follows:
Who’d ever want to be ordinary when you could be a teenage witch instead? Still reeling from the surprise revelation of her secret birthright and with Halloween just around the corner, high schooler Sabrina Spellman is honing her craft one hex at a time and figuring out how to balance her magical new life with the crushing responsibilities of being 16 years old.
But when her feline familiar Salem drops a mythical trickster on Sabrina’s literal doorstep, she might not be able to keep her two worlds from smashing together like two busted pumpkins on All Hallow’s Eve. The issue will be available at participating retailers at 12:01AM on October 7, making it available for sale alongside Marvel's Midnight Fantastic Four #1, Midnight Spider-Man #1, and Midnight X-Men #1. Retailers will also be able to order a variant cover by Brailsford available to those participating in the midnight release, as the first “Pyre Satanic” cover for Archie Comics, a new subset of surprise covers “echoing a unique chapter of Archie Comics history in a playfully subversive way.”

What’s even better is that retailers who bulk order the new series get a special discount! Oni Press will match all of Marvel’s deep discounts on bulk orders, ranging from five percent on 25-49 copies to ten percent for a hundred copies or more.
