We were excited when the very first teaser trailer for Scott Beck and Bryan Woods’ 65 came along. At that point, the film seemed to be about an astronaut (played by Adam Driver) crash-landing on an alien planet and being forced to fight for survival while finding a way back up to the stars.

We were excited again when the film’s first full-length trailer arrived – that’s the one where we realized that Beck and Woods’s film took place 65 million years in the past (“Ohhh, 65!”), and the “aliens” Driver was being menaced by were, in fact, dinosaurs.

And, wouldn’t ya know it, we’re excited once again today upon getting a look at the film’s first UK trailer, which really dials up both the dinosaur action and the spectacular explosions. You do like dinosaurs and explosions, don’t you?

Just in case the names “Beck and Woods” don’t immediately ring a bell, these are the guys who wrote A Quiet Place, the upcoming (and reportedly great) The Boogeyman, and 2019’s Haunt. These guys know their way around a solid high-concept thriller, in other words, and every new piece of footage we see from 65 only gets us more hyped to see what they’ve come up with this time around. From the looks of things, this one’s gonna be a very thrilling, indeed.

Here’s an official plot synopsis, for your records:

“After a catastrophic crash on an unknown planet, pilot Mills (Adam Driver) quickly discovers he’s actually stranded on Earth…65 million years ago. Now, with only one chance at rescue, Mills and the only other survivor, Koa (Ariana Greenblatt), must make their way across an unknown terrain riddled with dangerous prehistoric creatures in an epic fight to survive.”

Beck and Woods’s 65 hits theaters on March 17th, via Columbia Pictures and producer Sam Raimi (how’s that for a giant, green flag?). We’ll be there opening day. How ’bout y’all?
