Emma Tammi's Five Nights at Freddy's, based on the ultra-popular game franchise of the same name, is one of the most highly anticipated horror movies of the year: ever since the first Five Nights game arrived back in 2014, fans have been clamoring for an adaptation, and after nearly a decade it's almost here. Featuring a cast that includes Josh Hutcherson and the great Matthew Lillard and animatronics designed by the Jim Henson Creature Shop, there's reason to believe that this is the movie they've been waiting for.

Today brings us a fresh update on Tammi's film: according to the good folks over at Bloody Disgusting, Five Nights at Freddy's has been given an MPA rating of PG-13 for "strong violent content, bloody images, and language." So, the movie will be bloody, just maybe not super bloody. Fair enough!

As previously reported, Five Nights at Freddy's concerns "a troubled security guard begins working at Freddy Fazbear’s Pizza. While spending his first night on the job, he realizes the night shift at Freddy’s won’t be so easy to make it through.” As anyone who's played Five Nights can tell you, said security guard will struggle to survive that night shift thanks to a cadre of killer animatronic creatures - think "Showbiz Pizza's Rock-afire Explosion band, from Hell" and you're not too far off.

Blumhouse and Universal will release Five Nights at Freddy's in theaters and on Peacock simultaneously on October 27th, just in time for your Halloween movie marathon. Stay tuned for more on this one as further updates become available!
