One of our more anticipated films of 2023 is Tim Story’s The Blackening, a horror-comedy starring (deep breath) Antoinette Robertson, Dewayne Perkins, Sinqua Walls, Grace Byers, X Mayo, Melvin Gregg, Jermaine Fowler, Yvonne Orji, and former SNL cast member Jay Pharoah. The film debuted at last year’s Toronto International Film Festival, racking up a number of very positive reviews in the process, and tomorrow we’ll be getting our first trailer for the film.

Today, however, we’ve got the film’s very first poster. We’ll get to that in just a second, but first – let’s take a look at The Blackening‘s official plot synopsis:

The Blackening centers around a group of Black friends who reunite for a Juneteenth weekend getaway only to find themselves trapped in a remote cabin with a twisted killer. Forced to play by his rules, the friends soon realize this ain’t no motherfucking game.”

And here’s that poster:

Haha, well played, The Blackening poster.

Nothing further to report at this time, but once again, the first trailer for The Blackening will be along tomorrow, and we’ll have it in front of you just as soon as it lands in our inbox! Stay tuned for that and, indeed, further updates on The Blackening as they become available.
