If you ever wondered where the director behind Predator and Die Hard got his start, Treasured Films has just the Blu-ray release for you: the boutique physical media company is releasing John McTiernanโs Nomads on Blu-ray this spring. Joining their collection of cult titles like Mausoleum and Satanโs Blood, the new edition of the 1986 film is expected to ship in April.
Nomads was McTiernanโs debut feature film, as well as the first film role for James Bond himself, Pierce Brosnan, who up to that point was known for his role in TVโs Remington Steele. The story of a man haunted by rootless demonic spirits (and the doctor he plagues after the fact), the film also stars Lesley-Anne Down, as well as cult star Mary Woronov and โ80s pop star Adam Ant in one of his first (and only) film roles.
The limited edition release includes brand-new slipcase art by Ilan Sheady of Uncle Frank Productions, as well as an illustrated collectorโs booklet with essays by Alan Jones, Amanda Reyes, Michael Doyle, and Andrew Llewelyn, and six collectible art cards, as well as two webstore exclusive perks: a nun spectre magnet and a reversible fold-out poster, both limited to 500 pieces each.
The release also includes numerous special features, including a 2K restoration of the film from the original camera negative. The full list of features is as follows:
- NEW Newly scanned and restored in 2K from the original negative.
- Uncompressed English DTS-2.0
- NEW Audio Commentary with director John McTiernan moderated by film writer and author Eric Lichtenfeld.
