She's taken on zombies, killer robots, cursed puppets, and a whole lot more, but now genre icon and Fango fave Barbara Crampton will face her trickiest foe yet with a starring role in The Kentucky Goblins, a new found-footage creature feature that just kicked ass on Kickstarter, surpassing a $50, 000 stretch goal in just two days.
From Frogman and Frogman Returns director Anthony Cousins, The Kentucky Goblins brings the Re-Animator and From Beyond icon to a cast that also includes Sydney Steinberg (Grind), Nate Caywood (One Dark Night), pro-wrestler/actor Ryan Nemeth (The Iron Claw), Noah Findling (Platonic), and Terrifier 3 and Big Baby star Krsy Fox.
Fox's real-life daughter Elle Riot-Fox also stars in a key role opposite Crampton.
The Kentucky Goblins sees a family Christmas become a fight for survival when an ancient subterranean threat awakens beneath the Kentucky countryside. A full synopsis reads:
Christmas Eve, 1989. Nancy Clark (Crampton) is hosting the first Clark family Christmas since the mysterious passing of her husband, Larry. But just as the family attempts to enjoy their holiday, a series of violent tremors awakens an ancient evil buried deep beneath the Kentucky countryside. The Kentucky Goblins have arrived to ruin Christmas!
Now, Nancy, alongside her children, Tami (Steinberg), Easton (Caywood), and Shannon (Fox), must put aside their family differences and band together to survive a subterranean menace. Also caught in the chaos are Tami’s husband Chris (Findling), and their two children, Claire (Riot-Fox) and Mac, as well as childhood family friend and local cop, Officer Robbie (Nemeth).
As mentioned, The Kentucky Goblins‘ Kickstarter was launched earlier this year and saw massive success. Kentucky Goblins producer Vincente DiSanti of Womp Stomp Films expressed his appreciation for the folks who helped support the movie, which starts filming this December:
